The Sienna Hunter Valley Wedding
Lemons and Love: A Tuscan Wedding Shoot in the Heart of the Hunter Valley
If you’ve ever fantasised about getting married in a sun-soaked Italian villa surrounded by olive trees and rustic charm, without having to board a long-haul flight, then let me introduce you to The Sienna Hunter Valley. It’s a Tuscan wedding venue right here in Australia, and it's honestly one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever photographed.
As a Hunter Valley wedding photographer, I’ve seen my fair share of stunning venues, but The Sienna? It’s on another level. It's the kind of place that makes you want to move your entire life there and start hosting garden parties on the regular.
Tucked away in the heart of the Hunter Valley, The Sienna feels like someone picked up a slice of Tuscany and dropped it in wine country – and somehow made it even better.
The one-of-a-kind venue has long alfresco tables nestled under wrought-iron arches, ancient olive trees lining the garden like wise old wedding guests, and a marble-topped outdoor bar that practically begs for Aperol Spritzes. There’s a rustic ceremony hall that doubles as a wine barrel room (yes, really), plus a dreamy piazza dotted with terracotta pots that look like they were stolen straight from a Roman courtyard.
And the best part? You can keep the celebration going all weekend long. With luxury accommodation for up to 36 people, your nearest and dearest can stay on-site in seriously stylish digs. Think: designer furniture, Murano glass chandeliers from Venice, a Dolce & Gabbana oven (because why not?), Moroccan tiles, and the kind of interior design that would make even Vogue Living swoon.
And just when you think it can’t get better, there’s a cinema room, sauna, fire pit, pool table, and even a hot tub and ice bath situation. Basically, it’s your wedding, honeymoon, and mini-retreat all rolled into one.
The Shoot: A Vintage Mediterranean Vibe with a Modern Twist
For our styled shoot, we wanted to lean into the Mediterranean magic of The Sienna – citrus fruits, olive branches, and all the romantic, sun-drenched tones that make you feel like you're on holiday. We weren’t just going for pretty – we wanted it to feel timeless, elegant, and a little bit nostalgic.
Amanda from Sage Blossoming was the wizard behind the florals and styling. Her choice to bring in soft blue hydrangeas (to pick up on the venue’s pops of blue) was so spot-on. She created every floral arrangement and styled the entire shoot herself, and absolutely nailed it.
Ash from Wish Boutique Stationery handled the paper details, and they were next-level. Her linen welcome sign blended seamlessly into the dreamy ceremony space, and the 1950s-inspired menus gave a playful nod to that vintage European vibe we were channelling.
And then there was the cake. Oh wow, the cake. Ellie from Sweet Custom Cakes crafted a four-tiered stunner with delicate buttercream ruffles and a garnish of berries and figs. It looked like it belonged in a still-life painting, and tasted as good as it looked.
The Style: Effortlessly Chic, Playful, and Full of Heart
Let’s talk about our amazing couple, Natasha and Thomas. Total naturals. They’d never done a shoot like this before, but you wouldn’t know it. Their chemistry was effortless – playful, relaxed, and totally in love. Which, let’s be honest, makes my job a whole lot easier (and the photos that much more magical).
Mandy from Ivory State Hair and Makeup created a soft, flawless look for Natasha that highlighted her stunning features. For the second look, we switched things up with a bold red lip, which added a flirty, retro twist to the vibe.
Emma Matthews Hairstyling gave Natasha the perfect updo to start – elegant, face-framing, and chic. Later in the shoot, she let it down into a half-up style and added a bright red bow (because bows are having a moment, and I’m very much here for it).
And the gowns? Absolute perfection, thanks to Bettina from Loved Bridal. She has this amazing eye for picking pieces that not only fit the brief, but make the bride feel confident, radiant, and totally themselves.
If you’re on the hunt for a Hunter Valley wedding venue that’s equal parts romantic, luxurious, and downright unforgettable, The Sienna is your girl. It's a place that doesn’t just photograph beautifully (although it 100% does) – it feels magical. It’s got heart, style, and that hard-to-define “wow” factor that leaves guests speechless and couples glowing.
Whether you’re planning a destination-style celebration, a weekend-long party with your favourite people, or simply want a wedding day that feels different – The Sienna Hunter Valley brings the vibe, the views, and the vino.
This styled shoot was one for the books – not just because of the jaw-dropping location, but because of the insanely talented team who helped bring the vision to life. If you’re dreaming of a Tuscan wedding venue that’s soaked in sunshine, brimming with charm, and nestled in one of Australia’s most iconic wine regions, do yourself a favour and check out The Sienna.
